I really was shocked to read this one. Why does it cost $55,000 to take out an appendix? I mean, really? My appendix was taken out when I was 12 and I don't think my folks had to fork out that much for it. What amazes me is this statement.
In April, University of California San Francisco researchers set out to find out how much an appendectomy cost among 19,000 patients in California. An appendectomy varied in price from $1,529 to $182,955, the researchers wrote in the study published in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine.
I mean, for real??? Am I the only one who thinks this is a ridiculous amount? Even with insurance coverage, the out of pocket cost is still rather high!
This guy has lost his God-given mind! I sympathize with him on the loss of his son but there is absolutely NO WAY he can justify slapping a toddler! I was so disgusted reading this story and also the comments by people saying it was an unfair sentence. Really? He was on probation for a prior incident! I don't think the sentence was unfair.
On a different note, have you ever felt like you have a doppelganger out there? Like you walk by someone and they ask you "I know you from somewhere" and you are ABSOLUTELY SURE you are not the person they know because you've never been to any of the places the person has been to? Well, Check out these celebrity look-alikes. I thought for sure this woman was Oprah until I looked closely.
it is crazy how much things cost! I dont see how someone could have a baby without insurance!
ReplyDeleteAnd I once saw a girl at the zoo who looked just like me, it was freaky! I didn't say anything to her though... I mean what do you say?!
XOXO
Yup. The cost of living sometimes boggles my mind but I guess that's how things go.
DeleteI think I'd freak out if I saw someone that looked like me. That's wicked cool though!
The Angelina Jolie look-a-like got me good! I wouldn't know what to do if I saw my look-a-like!
ReplyDeleteRight??? I wonder if these people get paid to be stand-ins for the real celebrities. Although, I don't think I'd be happy if I got a fake signature if I were to encounter a "fake" celebrity.
DeleteLove Friday foolery...oh wow that oprah lookalike looks so much like her! I bet you there are many many people living like the first guy!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :-).
DeleteI am sure there are a lot of people who have no conscience when it comes to scamming others. It is unfortunate but I take comfort in knowing that there are also a lot of good people out there who do the right thing. Makes a good balance in the world.
