Weekend in review

We had a full but relaxing and fun weekend. I know, that sounds like a contradiction so let me explain.

On Saturday, we skipped our usual family walk in favor of working out at home. The weather was just so cloudy and we didn't want to risk being caught in the rain while walking with JOE.
After our walk, we had breakfast and headed to JOE's swim classes. She did better this week since her daddy was in there with her :-).

I left from there to get my hair done. 18-weeks and I was VERY DUE for a texlax. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of my hair because the rest of the evening was somewhat a blur.

When I got home from my hair appointment and grocery shopping, I washed and cut up fruits for my daily smoothies. By the way, I have lost 6-lbs to date! Woohoo!!! I am sure some of it has to do with my stopping breastfeeding and my boobs going back but I'll take a weight loss anyway it comes :-).
J grilled dinner for us on Saturday. We got caught in the rain but it passed quickly.

On Sunday after service, we had breakfast as a family and just relaxed until football came on. At which point, J was completely engrossed in the different games. He did check in on us from time to time though :-).

On Monday, since it was a holiday for JOE and I, we went for a family walk and then got cleaned up and headed to a produce farm an hour away to go apple picking. We had a lot more fun than we thought we would have. We have decided to make it an annual family tradition.

Anyways, here are pics from the last few days.

I love "just because" flowers. Hubby got me flowers last week just because. I think he is trying to bribe me so I don't sew him a Dashiki! I told him as long as the government is shut down, everyone in this household will be getting a mommy original :-)

JOE enjoying some time with "dadda" while watching Despicable Me.

My princses loves hanging on to me. We are both wearing skirts done by me :-)

We FINALLY made it to go Apple picking! Just before the season ended. It was a lot of fun!

Hubby plucking the apples while I pointed "hey honey...get that one...not that one...its too small...the other one to the right" :-)

Ignore the look on JOE's face. I think she is practicing her model look! She of course smiled right after the picture was taken :-)

She wanted to wear my sunglasses. Mind you, I have a pair for her but apparently, mine is cooler.

Yup...looks like she was taking a selfie. No...she was trying to get the camera from me to see how she looks.

Our stash :-)

After washing, peeling and cutting up the apples. I'll be making apple pie with the ones in the bowl. The rest went in the freezer.

    1. Yup yup! Its absolutely awesome. I wear her when I cook, clean and do things and she wants to be close to me. I really enjoy it. She is getting heavier though so I am not sure how much longer I'll be able to baby wear :-).

  2. I want to go apple picking, those apples look yummy.

Love that pic of you and JOE with your glasses. I would so go for your glasses too if I were her.

I am so amazed that you can go 18 weeks without a relaxer, that's awesome. I am excited to relax my hair this week at barely 11 weeks.

    1. Oh it is so much fun! You and the kids absolutely have to go. They'll enjoy it. The season is almost ended though so make it sooner rather than later.

Girl, I typically go 16-weeks but this time, I just didn't have the time to go sooner so I had to wait until the 18th week. I don't have thick hair so for me, it is relatively manageable until it gets to the 14-15 week mark :)

    1. Lol...hey, she has to start somewhere :-).

Thank you! We will definitely try to stick with it every year because it is an excellent way to also start the Fall and get our dessert fillings for the holidays :-). Yup...there'll be apple pies for Thanksgiving AND Christmas!
