Week in review. I am so ready for Spring

This past week was COLD! I am sure I am not the only person who is ready for the Spring to get here. Even though I often suffer from Spring allergies, I will rather take that compared to this cold, icky and sometimes depressing weather. Although, don't get me wrong, I do like the "free" days we get from work when we get significant snow and I appreciate how beautiful and clean everything looks after it snows.

On Monday, on my way to work, I stopped and snapped this picture. Everything just looked so beautiful and the sun was just coming out. The picture doesn't do it justice. Times like this, I wish I had my "big girl" camera to capture the true beauty...hint hint to the hubby ;-).

Things have been  going well with JOE's child care provider. J & I are so thankful for how smooth the transition has been. With her assistance, JOE now knows her primary colors, they've learned quite a few new songs, JOE can now count to 15 (she used to stop at 10) and her vocabulary is improving everyday. We are really impressed with the lesson plans she puts together for JOE. Plus she and JOE get to do lots of girly things like their hair and nails. How cool is that?

Here is JOE's coloring from last week. This is my baby's first art work made for her momma. I know its not much but it made me very proud :-). Now, we just need to learn to color inside the lines.

And here's more art work they did last week. JOE couldn't wait to share this with us. I love how excited she is at the end of the day when we get home because she has learned something and wants to share it with us. She is like a sponge and soaks up everything around her.

Thanks to my very awesome friend, after complaining to her about how long it takes to do JOE's hair, she ordered me some products to try out on her hair. The first one we've tried is the one on the left (Ouidad Krly Kids). I have used it a total of 3-times on JOE's hair and let me just say doing JOE's hair has taken a complete turn for the better. What used to be a 90+ minute task now takes less than an hour to co-wash, detangle and braid. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! The first time I used it, I was 80% satisfied. By the 3rd time, I was 100% satisfied.
I want to finish with that one before I move on to the other 2 products my friend ordered. So far, I am loving the Ouidad product.

Here's JOE's hair after I did it last Saturday.

I told her to turn around for me to get a picture and she wanted to do a dance move for me :-).

Here's a close up of JOE's hair. It is long but she isn't ready for it to be cut yet though and neither is J. She loves to shake her braids after I do her hair and part of me is eager to see just how much longer it'll grow if we continue to let it grow out.

I also just recently discovered these No Slip hair ties from Scunci. These things are AWESOME! I love them because they are gentle on JOE's hair and when I take them out, she doesn't have as much hair loss as when she used the regular ones. Plus it stays in place for an entire week. Not bad!
I always let JOE pick her own colors for her hair and let her tell me where she wants them (front or back). I figured it is a good way to get her involved in decision making when it comes to her hair.

Last Sunday, JOE finally got to wear one of the dresses her Aunt M got her to church. She looked so cute in her dress and silver tights with her princess bright pink sequined shoes. Too bad I didn't get a chance to get a picture of the full outfit.I took this picture with the intention to do that and forgot. Yup...that's pregnancy brain for ya :-).

And here's our weekly mommy daughter selfie from last week. We figured we'd stick out our tongues this time around :-).

Yesterday, we got an unplanned day off work due to the snow. To keep JOE busy, I decided that we would make bread rolls. JOE is so awesome in the kitchen. She is very eager to learn and help! Just one of the million and one reasons why I love this girl so much!
Anyways, here she is helping with the bread mix. We made it from scratch and used this recipe. At the last minute, JOE decided she wanted us to add raisins so we did.

The rolls tastes DELISH and JOE was very proud of herself. The best thing about these rolls is that you don't even need butter or anything additional. They taste great by themselves.

And after all that work, JOE decided to rest on the couch and watch the iPAD. She actually asked to "go sit and watch iPAD momma. I'm tired!"

As you can see, we had a full but awesomely blessed week. Next week, I'll be doing another baby update. I planned on doing one this week since we got our 3D done on baby #2 on Wednesday but I forgot to take a belly shot.
Also, we are now fully in prepping for baby mode! Baby items to be purchased this weekend. Woohoo!!!

Hope you had a great week! Have a fabulous weekend and remember to be kind to strangers!

  2. Her hair is so cute, love the style and that you let her choose!

I am so with you about the weather. Spring brings awful allergies for me but at this point i'll rather pop tons of allergy pills vs deal with another winter like this one!

Hubby, give her a "big girl" camera! ;)

  3. How did I miss this post, dude I am so behind.

Loving your selfie for this week, you and JOE are total twins.

By the way, my sister tried your hair recipe and she loved how her curls turned out.
