After I met J, as a surprise present to J, we took a trip to Niagara Falls. We stayed on the Canadian side. I figured it'll be a good way to see how he travels. I didn't want someone who would be more like extra baggage when traveling. This was a test and clearly, J passed with flying colors because we are now married and get to travel together :-). He's moved up the Joy Incorporated ladder :-).
The best part of the trip is that it taught me that even

My Vanna White moment. She is Canadian right? |
All dressed up for dinner. It was also around my birthday so J treated me to a nice dinner :-). |
We love our Brazilian steakhouse dinners! :-D |
Same concept as Fogo De Chao. |
Then we visited the Hershey store close to the border. |
Hey there handsome! Yup...he was taking a selfie! |
We visited a winery... |
Where I sampled the grapes. |
And tried to go for more :-D |
The view from our room. Excuse the blurry pic. |

We went on the boat cruise. |
J being silly. |
This thing looked like a time machine. It was wicked cool. |
How awesome is this? They have the Canadian leaves on the pavement. |
Notice anything different? Hint: Its in the "O" |
Look! I am 6 ft tall!!! :-D |
Not really...Only 5ft 5in. But for a second, I was :-D. |
J's dad is 6ft 6in. He is almost that... |
Not quite...he's 6ft 1in :-). And perfect just the way he is :-D |
This bird thought it was cool. It sat there while folks snapped away! Didn't move. I was actually kinda surprised. |
"Feel the rainbow!" |
We had a fabulous time during our trip and it is definitely going to be a family destination at some point in the future. We plan on visiting more places in Canada when we go as a family.
Those are really great pics. It looks like you two had sooo much fun. Seeing pictures like that makes me realize how much I need a vacation. I am so overdue for one. By the way, you are rocking that dress at the Steakhouse. Have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteWe sure did. Thank you!
DeleteVacations are a must! We all work too hard and need a break every now and then :-D.
Great pics! I visited Niagra Canada side several years ago too! You and J look so cute and it was meant to be. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you! It sure was. You should go back. Its such a fun area! :-).
DeleteAlso, I love the beige jacket with the button detail on the cuff. Cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is one of my favorite jackets. Wish I could still fit into it but haven't since I got pregnant with JOE. Not giving up though, I will fit into it again :-D.
DeleteBoy do I need a vacation. Nice photos....John seems taller in person I think. Or maybe I'm just shrinking in my old age. LOL
ReplyDeleteGirl, you and me both. Have you decided on where/when you'll be going yet?
DeleteYeah...folks always say he seems taller. I think its cause he's slimmer :-D.
These pictures are incredible! I love that it was a test to see if he would be a good travel buddy ;) I know you're kidding but it is so true ... if you can't travel with them might as well say goodbye, lol.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Thank you! And you are absolutely right. Having a fun travel buddy makes all the difference :-).
DeleteGirl, I almost panicked because I thought you were going to tell us a story about someone other than J. You saved me from a heart attack :).
ReplyDeleteI love that both you and J traveled and had so much fun doing it together. Nothing better than having a great traveling partner, makes for an awesome experience. Looking good in that black dress with the red shoes.
Still waiting for baby #3 over here, he is taking his time I tell you. Less than a week though he'll be here.
LOL...Sorry...didn't mean to panic you :-D. I guess I should have said "former boyfriend, current husband" :-).
DeleteThank you! I love those shoes! It made an appearance again in our Christmas cards last year :-D. I am thankful that I am still able to fit in my pre-JOE pregnancy shoes :-).
He'll be here before you know it. Just a few more days. Hang in there!
What a great trip!
ReplyDeleteLol at the title...at first I was like no she didn't post about her former bf. anyway funny thing is that our first trip too as a couple was to Niagara Falls on the American side:-) looks like you guys had a blast!! Have you been back yet?
ReplyDeleteaww the falls, i haven't been there since i was a kid. ^ i did a double take on the post title too but after i started reading i got it ;) i think vacationing in Canada is a great idea. I have such nice memories of visiting different places in Ontario (and Calgary and the East Coast as well) from my childhood. Canada is a beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteI love the falls. I was there couple of years ago, can't believe time has already passed. I love the pictures of you and hubby. the seagull in the picture looks like one I took a picture of two years ago. We plan a visit around the west side of Canada with my in laws this June
