This week's Project Milf challenge has to do with travel.
If I could visit anywhere in the world, I would visit Egypt. That is the one place that's on my bucket list. I have wanted to go so bad that even when my fiance` was trying to propose to me, the first works out of my mouth were "I knew it! You got us tickets to Egypt!"
When I was little and we lived in Nigeria, my parents traveled with us all the time. One year, we were supposed to go to Egypt for the family vacation. But my dad who was always very busy with work had to cancel before we left because his boss was going to be in town and he needed to be there.
Ever since, I have been OBSESSED with going to Egypt. The Mommy is one of my favorite movies. I have seen that movie more times than I can count and til this day, if it comes on TV, I stop to watch it.
I have also watched MANY documentaries about visiting Egypt. However, now that I have a daughter, with the situation in that part of the world, I don't know when I'll get to visit. BUT I will one day visit.
I'd love to see the pyramids.
And ride a camel. I hear they smell. I have ridden a donkey before so I figured it can't be worse than that.
And the Sphinx!
I really can't wait! I get excited thinking about it :-). I even plan on dressing like a true desert tourist with the khaki pants/shorts and the hat even though I never look good in hats :-).
There you have it.
Have a FABULOUS weekend!

Long and busy few days
We had a pretty nice few days. Hubby, JOE and I all went to MA for my baby sister's law school graduation. We are all incredibly proud of her and her achievement. She even got a special award for her achievements.
Here we are on the plane.
JOE and I taking self shots.
The proud parents. 6 kids, 5 with post graduate degrees. Not bad...She is their baby or as my mom likes to call her, she is their "last card".
Going to receive her President's award for academic achievement.
Newly minted beautiful and talented J.D.
JOE just discovered her reflection in the mirror. Here she is loving on herself :-).

Fun weekend!
I had a good weekend. I was able to get a lot done and it was nice to have my husband available now that he is done with school. It was a full weekend though and I feel like I need a couple more days to recover. Thankfully, it is a short work week for me.
On Saturday, while hubby went to get my oil changed, I let JOE watch cartoons and then got JOE ready and we headed to CVS to get a passport photograph for her. It took several takes but at last, we were able to get a usable picture.
Here's my little princess enjoying watching Disney JR's Mickey Mouse club.
JOE is teething so it was a bit of a tough afternoon afterwards. This is JOE after the long day on Saturday. Not even sure how that can be comfortable.
On Sunday, we got ready and headed to church. Here is JOE all dressed up.
We met up with a couple of my friends visiting from MA and JOE had her first train ride. She seemed to like it. She especially loved being on the escalator.
Yesterday was a pretty busy day for me. It often is. My day consisted of working from 6am - 2:30pm, working out for a half hour, caring for JOE after my workday, doing any necessary pickup around the house and cooking dinner.
At the end of the day, I was EXHAUSTED! But it was nice to see the following post on Facebook by my darling hubby at the end of the day.

#ProjectMilf: Week 15...My thoughts
Week 15 is all about My thoughts. I will be completing sentences with what comes to mind:
1. The best thing I did this week is........take a day off work in the middle of the week to hang out with my family and go to the movies with my husband and daughter. We saw Iron Man 3 and loved it!
2. The best compliment I received this week......was from my husband. I have been feeling VERY insecure with my body and the way I look and he told me "you look sexy no matter what" and "you'll lose the baby weight...don't stress out about it." I love that he always his positive words of encouragement for me when I am down.
3. What I regret doing this week is.......not getting more sleep. Although, I don't know when I have the time with a very active and curious 6-month old but I say to myself every week "I will get more sleep this week" and sadly, that hasn't happened yet. I also regret not doing so well with my food choices. But each day is a new day and today, I am starting afresh :-).
4. What makes me smile is......when my daughter laughs or when my husband smacks my butt (can I say that?). I always tell him "I knew you were going to do that" or "stop that" but I secretly love it...don't tell him I said that :-)...then again, he reads my blog...oh well :-).
5. I think ProjectMilf is.......a pretty good way to learn more about others and I wish I could keep up with the updates each week. However, life happens and its somewhat hard to do so.
Looking forward to reading other people's responses to the above questions.
Feel free to join in even if you are not participating in ProjectMilf. It'll be fun!
Hope you've had a fabulous week so far!

The Graduate...
Last weekend was an awesome weekend. My handsome and awesome hubby graduated with his Masters degree in Strategic Communication and I got to celebrate my first mother's day.
All I can say is "thank you Lord for these gifts".
On Saturday, right before the graduates walked in, I got really teary eyed because I was so happy and proud of my hubby. He worked so hard and tirelessly for this and all while taking care of our home and me. At the end of the day, he still managed to graduate with a 3.96 GPA (out of 4). During his 20-months of school, we celebrated the birth of our baby girl, we moved into a new home and made it through our first AND second year of marriage.
I love him so much and while he is by no means perfect, he IS the perfect man for me.
So without further ado, here are some pictures from our weekend festivities.
He got the new Eco Citizen's watch that he's always wanted from JOE & I.
Here they are...my heart! Ready to hit the road. We both wore something blue in honor of hubby. JOE got a blue bow in her hair and I wore a dress with blue.
Hubby with some of his classmates. Hubby is top left.
Hubby & I...
She'd just woken up and he g-pop (grandpa) was making her smile :-).
I hope you had a lovely weekend. And to all my mommy readers, I hope you were able to truly enjoy the day with your loved ones.

#Project Milf - week 14 - MILF mom/woman
I LOVE this week's task because it is one I am VERY passionate about. My mom is the reason I am who I am. She is strong and resilient and gives her all to all 6...yes SIX of her kids.
She always knows when I am going through something and is there to encourage me. She knows me from the inside out. She has made so many sacrifices through the years for us. She was here to help usher my baby into the world and I couldn't have asked for a better co-coach with my hubby. She feels my every pain and rejoices with me through every achievement.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE her and I am glad that this Sunday, we get to celebrate her. I may not be there physically with her but my heart is there rejoicing with her.
This poem describes how I feel. I grew up reading and singing it.
Who sat and watched my infant head; When sleeping on my cradle bed; And tears of sweet affection shed? My Mother.
When pain and sickness made me cry; Who gazed upon my heavy eye; And wept for fear that I should die? My Mother.
Who taught my infant lips to pray; And love God’s holy book and day; And walk in wisdom’s pleasant way? My Mother.
And can I ever cease to be; Affectionate and kind to thee; Who wast so very kind to me. My Mother?
Ah, no! the thought I cannot bear; And if God please my life to spare; I hope I shall reward they care. My Mother.
When thou art feeble, old and grey; My healthy arm shall be thy stay; And I will soothe thy pains away. My Mother.

Growing up is hard work! My baby is 6-months!
The last week has been spent trying to get over vertigo and the weekend was spent caring for a teething baby.
I have to give BIG KUDOS to my hubby for picking up the slack when I couldn't. He's been a tremendous help and even though sometimes I want to pinch him for doing or saying somethingintentionally (in my head) to upset me, the one thing I have and will always know is that when it all comes down, he's got my back! Enough about him. I will be doing another post to sing his praises later on this week.
I got home on Thursday evening and could barely function. J immediately took the baby downstairs and let me sleep for what felt like 30-minutes but was actually 2-hours. I was so tired, I didn't even hear the baby downstairs and oftentimes, I can.
That sleep really did my body good. Friday evening, I came home to a teething but happy baby. Well, that all went out the door as the weekend progressed.
My baby is teething and her discomfort is getting to me :-(. I wish there was something I could do to help her out. That coupled with the sudden temperature change led to her having a cold. She is definitely fighting a good fight though cause she isn't letting the cold keep her down.
Months 5 - 6: (Height: TBD, Weight: TBD @ next appointment)
Our little JOE turned 6-months yesterday. She is a mover and a shaker. She can "crawl" from point A to object B by rolling and doing a leap frog. Its quite comical but cute nonetheless.
Unfortunately, she is now so used to my phone's camera that anytime I pick it up and point it at her, she stops and smiles and refuses to move. A friend suggested I use my iPAD to record her moving since she isn't used to it. I will try that soon. I am so proud of my baby. I mean, what parent isn't right?
