DIY: Yogurt covered pretzel...fail

We are planning my sister's bridal shower and being the DIY person (insert frugal here) that I am, I decided to make some yogurt covered pretzels.
I went to my trusted site pinterest to find some recipes but I couldn't find anything simple and the reviews were always blah so I figured I'd wing it.

- I had plain Greek yogurt at home (it is yogurt covered pretzels afterall).
- I got some candy melt $3.99 @ Michaels
- A bag of unsalted pretzels $3.59 @Walmart

And went to work. I melted the candy according to the directions on the package and added a couple of tablespoon fulls of plain yogurt.
I dipped the pretzels and put them on wax paper covered trays and in the freezer for 2-hours.

The result? Yogurt covered pretzel!!!

I wish I could say they tasted crunchy and yummy but that would only be a half truth. They were actually yummy but they were somewhat soft.
Hubby loves them and JOE loves them as well but they didn't turn out like traditional yogurt covered pretzels.

So DIY yogurt covered pretzels = fail. I guess we'll be purchasing this item for the party.

There you have it. A DIY fail. Not my first and certainly not my last ☺.

Have a fabulous week!
