7-months. Standing, Seating, Crawling and Clapping!

JOE is growing up so fast! I can't believe she is 7-months today.
She is crawling, seating on her own, clapping and standing!

I still can't believe she is doing all these things.
- Said dada at 4 months. She can now say tata, gaga and make gargling sounds from her throat. Still no momma yet though
- Started sitting on her own at 5 months
- Started crawling at 6 months
- Started pulling herself up and standing at 6.5 months
- Started clapping at 6.5 months
- Started using the edges of the couch to move at 6.5 months
- She has been teething but nothing has broken through yet.

At this rate, I am guessing she'll be walking in no time.

J & I are just so proud of our little girl. She is our pride and joy.

More DIY, morning room decor and dining set

It has been a busy few days. I have done quite a few of my DIY items and I love the way they turned out.

We ordered a dining table for our morning room. We already had  the chairs from 2 other sets hubby and I had so we only had to paint them.

My inspiration is at the top and the final finished product is at the bottom of this pic.

We had a mix of similar chairs. Hubby had 4 and I had 2. Thankfully, the table sits 6 so it was perfect.
Before and after look of the chairs.

On the left of this pic was my inspiration for our bedroom art. They did theirs on wood boards but I used canvas instead. Also, since I am not an artist, I created my own stencils using MS Word, used a pen knife to cut out the shapes and then just painted over the canvas. Hubby will be hanging these up this weekend.

Also, on the left is the inspiration I found on Pintrest (my new obsession). I made the middle and right one. These are hung up in our morning room. It ties in all the colors.
Yes, it is PRAY and then EAT. I know a lot of people will walk in and wonder why I hung up PRAY before EAT. It is a conversational piece. I'll just let them know I pray before I eat :-).

#ProjectMilf: Week 17...If I Could Visit Anywhere in the World

This week's Project Milf challenge has to do with travel.

If I could visit anywhere in the world, I would visit Egypt. That is the one place that's on my bucket list. I have wanted to go so bad that even when my fiance` was trying to propose to me, the first works out of my mouth were "I knew it! You got us tickets to Egypt!"

When I was little and we lived in Nigeria, my parents traveled with us all the time. One year, we were supposed to go to Egypt for the family vacation. But my dad who was always very busy with work had to cancel before we left because his boss was going to be in town and he needed to be there.

Ever since, I have been OBSESSED with going to Egypt. The Mommy is one of my favorite movies. I have seen that movie more times than I can count and til this day, if it comes on TV, I stop to watch it.
I have also watched MANY documentaries about visiting Egypt. However, now that I have a daughter, with the situation in that part of the world, I don't know when I'll get to visit. BUT I will one day visit.

I'd love to see the pyramids.

And ride a camel. I hear they smell. I have ridden a donkey before so I figured it can't be worse than that.

And the Sphinx!

I really can't wait! I get excited thinking about it :-). I even plan on dressing like a true desert tourist with the khaki pants/shorts and the hat even though I never look good in hats :-).

There you have it.

Have a FABULOUS weekend!

Long and busy few days

We had a pretty nice few days. Hubby, JOE and I all went to MA for my baby sister's law school graduation. We are all incredibly proud of her and her achievement. She even got a special award for her achievements.

Here we are on the plane.

JOE and I taking self shots.

The proud parents. 6 kids, 5 with post graduate degrees. Not bad...She is their baby or as my mom likes to call her, she is their "last card".

Going to receive her President's award for academic achievement.

Newly minted beautiful and talented J.D.

JOE just discovered her reflection in the mirror. Here she is loving on herself :-).

Fun weekend!

I had a good weekend. I was able to get a lot done and it was nice to have my husband available now that he is done with school. It was a full weekend though and I feel like I need a couple more days to recover. Thankfully, it is a short work week for me.

On Saturday, while hubby went to get my oil changed, I let JOE watch cartoons and then got JOE ready and we headed to CVS to get a passport photograph for her. It took several takes but at last, we were able to get a usable picture.

Here's my little princess enjoying watching Disney JR's Mickey Mouse club.

JOE is teething so it was a bit of a tough afternoon afterwards. This is JOE after the long day on Saturday. Not even sure how that can be comfortable.

On Sunday, we got ready and headed to church. Here is JOE all dressed up.

We met up with a couple of my friends visiting from MA and JOE had her first train ride. She seemed to like it. She especially loved being on the escalator.

Yesterday was a pretty busy day for me. It often is. My day consisted of working from 6am - 2:30pm, working out for a half hour, caring for JOE after my workday, doing any necessary pickup around the house and cooking dinner.

At the end of the day, I was EXHAUSTED! But it was nice to see the following post on Facebook by my darling hubby at the end of the day.
