Photo Dump Wednesday: 2015 Family Vacation - Aruba part 2

Here's the continuation recap of our 2015 family vacation to Aruba. On our 3rd full day there, we decided to explore the Island some more. Coincidentally, our resort was close to a few cool sites so we did a bit of walking.

Here is one of me in front of a statue of Queen Wilhelmina. I was pleasantly surprised as to how much of an American influence/presence there was on the Island when Aruba is actually a part of the kingdom of the Netherlands. In other words, it is a Dutch Island. Eitherways, it was pretty cool.

And if you know your Dutch history, or even if you don't, you might have heard about a little girl named Anne Frank. It was so cool to see this statue dedicated to her.
J and I visited the Anne Frank museum (where the family hid) in the Netherlands a few years ago after we got married. We were very touched to see this here.

JOE enjoyed being pushed around in her stroller and we were definitely happy we took the umbrella stroller with us. For the most part, I carried JAE in our Ergo baby carrier so we didn't need to bring our bigger double stroller.

Like I said in my post last week, the resort staff were very nice! They made sure even at lunch time, we had coloring paper and crayons to keep JOE entertained.

And also made sure that J and I had delicious drinks to keep us happy and hydrated :-D.

Last week, I posted about the blue horses statue on the Island. Here is more information on them.

Indeed, we do love Aruba! It was hard to get one of just us so this was the best we could get. Yes, JOE was sleeping.

I just had to snap a picture of this. Yes, that is indeed an inflated flamigo in the pool and yes, that's an adult on there.

After a long day spent at the pool, JOE was often tuckered out. Love her beautiful face.

Yup. Most of our afternoons were spent at the pool and lunch was served there as well.

My social butterfly daughter walked up to an 8-year old kid at the pool and said "hi, my name is Jordan. What's your name?"
Soon after, JOE was playing pool ball with the much older kid. Gotta love that girl.

And while JOE played with J, JAE often relaxed with me.

Me and my girls.

Oh gosh...this drink was sooooooooo gooooooooooddddd!!!! I had a mojito with dinner on our last evening there. It was sadly my only mojito because they didn't have any more ingredients to make me another. Sad sad...sniff sniff...

On our last night there, JOE slept through dinner. We made several attempts to wake her up to eat but she wasn't having any of it.

There is obviously a story behind this plate. So I saw on the menu "beefsteak tomato salad". I had never before heard of a beefsteak tomato and assumed it was just a tomato salad with slices of beef. WRONG! You should have seen the disappointed look on my face when I got my salad. I went back to the menu and told J what happened and he started laughing. Apparently, he knew what it was :-P.

J's yummy dessert.

My yummy dessert. Creme brulee.

JAE enjoyed the vacation but she also spent a lot of time sleeping. At the time, I didn't realize what was going on but turns out my baby was going through a growth spurt!

Here's a difference of 5-days. One taken the day we left for Aruba and the other the day before we left Aruba.

Another picture of the beautiful Island.

Before we left on our last morning there, we decided to walk a little bit. JOE didn't want to take a picture but she was smiling there. You just can't see her face.

Ready to head on home. At the airport.

At the airport with my little Vanna White.

We had a great time and as you can see, we were all smiles on our way back.

We're already planning our vacation for next year. Very much looking forward to it. Next week, I'll post some pictures of some of the really nice views of the Island. Until then, enjoy the rest of your week!
