DIY: Easy and healthier banana bread

We always buy some bananas every week when we go grocery shopping. We got some before we left for Boston and forgot to take them with us. So when we got back, we had 4 very soft bananas. I hate throwing out food so I decided to peel them and put them in the fridge for a later date.

Last week, I looked through Pinterest to find recipes. I came across a few but I am determined to be healthier this year so I looked for recipes that would allow me to use whole wheat flour instead of just regular white flour.

I found this one. Simple and I already had all the ingredients at home so I went to work.

I almost never follow the "do dry ingredients in a separate bowl" but I did this time, I decided to do that since its my first time making this.

Even JOE was my handy helper :-)

Ready to go in the oven!

Into the oven they went.

All done! Looks great right?

Cut into this yummy goodness and this is what it looked like.

Expertise needed: Beginner. It is simple and easy to read.
Total Approximate time: This took a total of about 20-minutes to put together and get in the oven. Baking time was 30-minutes so total time was 50-minutes.
Total spent on materials: Nothing. I used items I already had at home.
Feedback: After I mixed the batter, it was a little hard so I added about 1/4 cup of 2% milk. I am glad I added it because after I got these out of the oven, it was quite soft but by the time I got a chance to taste it later on in the evening, it was somewhat harder. I also used Lime Greek Yogurt instead of plain yogurt. I didn't  have any plain yogurt at home. It isn't as sweet BUT it is still tasty.
Definitely an awesome snack for JOE. I will make these again but perhaps with more milk added.

    1. Definitely. It isn't too sweet but it hits the spot and most of the items you already have at home.

She "helped" me by staying in her high chair :-D
