A weekend of blessed news and some DIY!

For me, it was truly a blessed weekend! Back in July, my sister graduated from law school. I was super excited for her cause she is the baby of the family. #6 of 6. Yes you all, my mom birth all 6 of us and she went natural SIX times. But that's a story for another day.
Anyways, my sister has been waiting for her bar results and on Friday, she finally got them. SHE PASSED!!! On her first try! I am so happy for her. She did so well that she is able to waive into DC without having to take another test. We are all so proud of her and can't wait to see the awesome things God will be doing in her life.

I also have another bit of good news but I am not at liberty to share it yet. No, I am NOT pregnant...at least not yet. But it has to do with another one of my sisters. Once I am given the go-ahead, I will share it. Needless to say, this Christmas is going to be a lot of fun with the whole family! :-).

We had a full weekend. I have been listening to a book by Gillian Michaels called "Slim for Life." It really is changing my mindset about food and being healthy so I have decided to give it a try. I figured I have nothing to lose but the weight :-). Needless to say, I have started implementing some of the changes around the house. J wasn't too thrilled with some of them but I think he is slowly but surely adjusting. Its an adjustment. We used to be so great with our eating habits but somehow, somewhere, we got away from it. We're getting back on track!

On Saturday, JOE had her swim lessons. She was actually the only kid in her age group in the pool! I guess a lot of people didn't sign up since it is getting cold. It is actually a make up session for JOE since we missed the first 2 classes. Since JOE enjoys it, we didn't want to deprive her of the classes.
We did our grocery shopping and decided to stop by Lowes to price out the cost for a couple of DIY projects around the house. We'll be painting the half bathroom and putting a back-splash in the kitchen. I can't wait to see the final outcome. I'll be sure to post pics when they are done.

On Sunday, we went to Church and then visited with my college friend. She had a baby boy a month ago and he is just the cutest! And such a good baby! He did not cry while we were there. I must admit, carrying a newborn did make me miss JOE at that age but don't worry...my ovaries aren't tingling quite yet :-). By the time we got home, we were both very tired. A lot of time and money last weekend was spent preparing for JOE's party. I am eager to get the show on the road and to hang out with my family. It'll be so much fun!

I gave the camera a rest this weekend and didn't take many pics but here are a few pictures of birthday DIY items and from last week.

How was your weekend? I hope it was loads of fun. I'd love to hear about it!

Have a blessed week!!!

I used scrap materials from past projects with beans. They are beanie pages afterall.

Final products. They will be used to play a couple of games we have planned.

Selfies...

I don't celebrate Halloween but I saw this and was quite tickled by it. These people are die hard fans huh?

Saw this during our family walk last week. Check out the coffin!

    1. Thank you!

Thanks for the kind words. I went out and got a different scale yesterday so I can track and celebrate even an ounce of weight loss. I figured it'll keep me motivated.

  3. Congrats to your baby sister on passing the bar, from what I hear that stuff is not easy at all.

I am almost jumped for joy when you said there was news you couldn't tell us yet but of course you had to ruin it right away and tell us it wasn't you :). I do like the fact that you said "not yet" there's hope that we will be pregnant together again even just for a few months :).

Dude, I wanted 6 kids before I moved to America then I got here and realized that it wouldn't be practical and settled for 4, I am so happy that my hubby is on the same page. Your mom is a trooper in my book :) she survived 6 kids in America, I want to give her a medal.

Those are some die hard fan. I celebrate Halloween but I don't go all out. Christmas is my go all out holiday. I can't keep up with all this nonsense. Your neighbors did good though, I am actually impressed.

PS - I am so excited to see JOE's birthday details. I think you have turned into Kathy with your DIY abilities. If you haven't checked out her gender reveal, run do not walk, it's awesome.

PPS - Sorry for writing a book, ok, not really sorry

    1. I always love readying your comments. They always keep me entertained. Its probably why I am always stalking your page :-).

Girl, you know I said my ovaries aren't tingling yet. It'll be a bit longer. We haven't decided yet. JOE turns 1 next week though so who knows? ;-).

I think I can only handle a max of 3. They are a lot of work so that's my mental limit :-). Kudos for 4 though. You and your hubby are already such great parents to your two boys so I have every confidence that you are up to the task!

Christmas!!! Can't wait to see your annual family photo and also the decor around your place. I have to start buying stuff. I am resisting until after JOE's birthday.

Oh I LOVE LOVE LOVE Kathy's page. I saw her gender reveal party. She is so creative! I think I'll do a gender reveal party as well when the time comes :-D
