Mommy anxiety

My baby hasn't been feeling 100% and it is so frustrating as a mom to see my little one go through it especially when I can't do enough to help her.

We switched to full cow's milk last week Friday evening. Prior to that, JOE had been doing great on breastmilk. However, I ran out of breastmilk ahead of time due to the fact that she started consuming more. Something I didn't anticipate when I stopped pumping. Chuck that up to first time mommy mistake :-(.

Anyways, since Tuesday, we've been dealing with her not feeling well and it is somewhat frustrating to see my little baby cry out of frustration.

We have even allowed her to have her binky during the day. Something we successfully weaned her off of. Hopefully, it doesn't become a habit again.

We're taking her to see the pediatrician this evening. Hoping that they can offer her some relief because she really needs it.

My dad was right when he said having kids is like watching your heart walk around on the outside. Seeing my baby cry in pain has me all twisted up on the inside.

The one positive thing is that she continues to smile when she isn't in pain. I love that about her!

Hope you're having a good week so far! Just one more day to the weekend!!!

London: Visiting the Roman Bath, Big Ben, The Stonehanges and more...

In May 2006, my sister and I visited London, England. We also took the opportunity to visit the Roman Bath while we were there.
We also visited Buckingham Palace, got to see a changing of the guards, Madame Tussaud's and we got to visit the sites where Jack The Ripper's victims were found as well as the house where Jane Austen (Sense & Sensibility, Pride & Prejudice writer) lived. As you can see from the pictures, we had a great time and my sister (aka my travel buddy) was so much fun to travel with.

Me and A. Hitchcock!

Yes...me and the queen :-)

Me and another queen...the queen B herself.

I am a smidgen taller than him! That's Bonaparte!

My sister and Whoopie Goldberg. People say they look alike. I guess they have similar high cheekbones but other than that, I don't really see it.

"Can you smell what the Rock is cooking?"

Pele! Don't worry...I still won't pay $1,700 for his book!

"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!"

The famous Trafalgar Square! I felt like I was a living piece of the Monopoly Game!

And of course my sister just had to take a picture in a red phone booth :-).

We had a great time! We definitely did the tourist thing. Complete with going on the tourist double decker buses :-).

A weekend of blessed news and some DIY!

For me, it was truly a blessed weekend! Back in July, my sister graduated from law school. I was super excited for her cause she is the baby of the family. #6 of 6. Yes you all, my mom birth all 6 of us and she went natural SIX times. But that's a story for another day.
Anyways, my sister has been waiting for her bar results and on Friday, she finally got them. SHE PASSED!!! On her first try! I am so happy for her. She did so well that she is able to waive into DC without having to take another test. We are all so proud of her and can't wait to see the awesome things God will be doing in her life.

I also have another bit of good news but I am not at liberty to share it yet. No, I am NOT pregnant...at least not yet. But it has to do with another one of my sisters. Once I am given the go-ahead, I will share it. Needless to say, this Christmas is going to be a lot of fun with the whole family! :-).

We had a full weekend. I have been listening to a book by Gillian Michaels called "Slim for Life." It really is changing my mindset about food and being healthy so I have decided to give it a try. I figured I have nothing to lose but the weight :-). Needless to say, I have started implementing some of the changes around the house. J wasn't too thrilled with some of them but I think he is slowly but surely adjusting. Its an adjustment. We used to be so great with our eating habits but somehow, somewhere, we got away from it. We're getting back on track!

On Saturday, JOE had her swim lessons. She was actually the only kid in her age group in the pool! I guess a lot of people didn't sign up since it is getting cold. It is actually a make up session for JOE since we missed the first 2 classes. Since JOE enjoys it, we didn't want to deprive her of the classes.
We did our grocery shopping and decided to stop by Lowes to price out the cost for a couple of DIY projects around the house. We'll be painting the half bathroom and putting a back-splash in the kitchen. I can't wait to see the final outcome. I'll be sure to post pics when they are done.

On Sunday, we went to Church and then visited with my college friend. She had a baby boy a month ago and he is just the cutest! And such a good baby! He did not cry while we were there. I must admit, carrying a newborn did make me miss JOE at that age but don't worry...my ovaries aren't tingling quite yet :-). By the time we got home, we were both very tired. A lot of time and money last weekend was spent preparing for JOE's party. I am eager to get the show on the road and to hang out with my family. It'll be so much fun!

I gave the camera a rest this weekend and didn't take many pics but here are a few pictures of birthday DIY items and from last week.

How was your weekend? I hope it was loads of fun. I'd love to hear about it!

Have a blessed week!!!

I used scrap materials from past projects with beans. They are beanie pages afterall.

Final products. They will be used to play a couple of games we have planned.

Selfies...

I don't celebrate Halloween but I saw this and was quite tickled by it. These people are die hard fans huh?

Saw this during our family walk last week. Check out the coffin!

Foolery: Things that make me go hmmm...

Yay!!! It is Friday. My favorite day of the week! :-).

This week's foolery stuff really had me shaking my head! So here we go.

Say it ain't so! Engaged after a year? She just turned 33 and is on her 3rd marriage. I read once that she said Elizabeth Taylor was her idol. I guess she is living a parallel life to her?
The one thing though is that they are so much alike (attention grabbers) so this just might work.

I don't know why some celebrities think that rules are made for others and not them. Why would she think it was OK to do this? I am glad she was kicked out!

Are you kidding me on this? I don't care if she was able to afford child care for her baby. If she wants to breastfeed her child, it is her right and telling her to make other arrangements or give the baby a bottle instead is just nonsense! The judicial official should have excused her for being an exclusively breastfeeding mom.
I understand a lot of people look as jury duty as a burden and some lie about what they are doing but the least they could have done is to have her come in with the baby. As a recent mom, this really irks me! Needless to say, the law needs to be changed.

On to something positive that made me smile. There's an update to my last Foolery post. Looks like things will work out for this young man.

Have a fabulous weekend!

My Maiden Voyage: A Princess Cruise

In 2007, a week after I went on my first date with J, my family went on an 8-day, 7-night cruise. We visited 3-Islands (Ocho Rio in Jamaica, Hell in the Cayman Islands & Princess Island) and HAD A BLAST! I also celebrated a milestone birthday during the cruise.

We went on a Princess Cruise ship it was a trip to remember. The then obsessed me worked out 6 of the 8 days. However, it was all you can eat whenever you want so I am glad I worked out. In spite of it though, I still managed to put on 3 "happy" pounds :-).

Here are some pics from my maiden cruise voyage :-).

Our cruise ship.

Me with my birthday smile :-).

We visited Turtuga bakery. They made excellent rum cakes!

Gotta love my folks. They were rocking those fanny packs!

Flowers from my family for my birthday! They smelled so good and lasted the entire cruise.

That hat was from my mom. She wanted us to all have hats for the trip. Never mind the fact that it was too small for me. I wore it though to make her happy.

When we go to a restaurant, we take over! That's our brood :-). We have since MULTIPLIED!

My parents having fun. They are too cute!

Tourist attraction.

Everyday when we got back to our room, there was some sort of animal made with towels. This was just too funny!

Reminds me of the last scene from Sound of Music.
Model/Sister in law. She is every bit an awesome sister so don't let the pose fool you!

Thought this was nice...it was on the opposite wall.

And then there was this tree. Kinda like the tree from the garden of Eden.

Our family. We had a great time.

Have you ever been on a cruise? To where? Did you enjoy it? Do you think you'll go again?
Have a rocking Tuesday!
